Pulley, a platform that startups use to monitor their funding rounds, announced it will shut down after seven years of operation. In a Tuesday statement on its website, the company said it will cease activities following December 8. Pulley had secured over $50 million from backers such as Founders Fund, General Catalyst, Stripe, and 8VC, and had previously positioned itself as a challenger to Carta in the cap-table management space—software that lets firms track share ownership and issue new equity during fundraising. As part of its wind-down, Carta has agreed to assist Pulley’s customers with migration and is providing a limited-time offer, according to the statement. Yin Wu founded Pulley after selling her Android app Echo to Microsoft in 2015. In a LinkedIn post on Tuesday, Wu wrote, “Although this marks the end of one chapter, I and many of our top team members have no plans to fade away quietly. There has never been a better moment to tackle big challenges. For now, we are concentrating on collaborating with Carta’s team to ensure our customers are cared for.” On the same day, founders shared screenshots of the email they received from Pulley. The email read, “We have worked hard to create a transition plan that will let you continue without interruption as we wind down.” It noted that customers who migrate to Carta can retain their current Pulley pricing for the first year, and Carta will credit any unused portion of their Pulley subscription.
