But FedEx Cup points and the FedExCup standings are most important this week with many players hovering around the bubble with the top 70 players advancing to next week’s FedEx Cup Playoffs starting in Memphis for the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

FedEx Cup Playoffs Points and Players on the Bubble
Players to watch this week near the bubble of top 70 that will also be covered at length on the golf broadcasts include:
Beau Hossler (63), Stephan Jaeger (64), Matt NeSmith (65), Vincent Norrman (66), J.J. Spaun (67), Ben Griffin (68), Cam Davis (69), Austin Eckroat (70), Ben Taylor (71), Garrick Higgo (72), K.H. Lee (73), David Lingmerth (74), Davis Thompson (75), Shane Lowry (76), S.H. Kim (78), Justin Thomas (79), Matt Wallace (80), Adam Scott (81), Joel Dahmen (82), Kevin Streelman (84).
Among the big names and proven performers is Justin Thomas, who needs a top-15 finish in the Wyndham Championship to get into the FedEx Cup Playoffs. In the last six years Thomas has finished no worse than seventh in the FedEx Cup standings. The 30-year-old 2-time major winner started the year ranked No. 8 in the world, but is currently No. 26 in the OWGR. He’s missed five cuts in his last seven starts.
Also, Adam Scott has played in every PGA Tour postseason since the FedEx Cup’s inception in 2007. The former Masters champ also needs a very high finish to get into the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
Shane Lowery hasn’t won on Tour since winning the Open Championship in 2019. He too needs at least a top-20 finish to make the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
Former U.S. Open champion Gary Woodland’s short game has been brutal, which will cost him a playoff spot despite top-12 ranking in strokes gained Off-the-Tee and Approach. At No. 97 in the points standings, Woodland needs a win or runner-up finish this week to advance or he’ll miss the FedEx Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2012.
