Former President Donald Trump voiced his support for protecting in-vitro fertilization Friday afternoon in a post on his Truth Social app, the first time the Republican candidate has weighed in on the treatment since a controversial Alabama Supreme Court ruling found frozen embryos were children, putting the fertility treatmentās future in jeopardy.

The decision by Alabamaās highest court does not ban IVF outright, but since the ruling last Friday, at least three medical facilities in the state have completely suspended IVF treatments due to the ālegal riskā it puts on practitioners.
Trumpās comments echo the National Republican Senatorial Committeeās memo also released on Friday, which instructed Senate candidates to campaign on increasing access and oppose restrictions on the practice.
