Three really great games are headed to PlayStation Plus Essential in April. One of these is a brand new, day-one release that looks absolutely terrific. Another is a PS5 launch title that I’ve been predicting would head to PS Plus for the last year or so. The third is an excellent hand-drawn side-scrolling RPG.
This new batch of games joins PlayStation Plus on
Here are April’s PlayStation Plus Essential games.
Meet Your Maker | PS4, PS5
This is a brand new game from the makers of Dead By Daylight. The basic premise is actually not that basic. You build and fortify Outposts filled with nefarious traps and fiendish guards and try to defeat other players who come to invade and steal from you. When you’re not doing that, you’re invading other players’ Outposts. You can build and raid with friends, making this one of the more unique-sounding first-person shooters to release in a very long time. I can’t wait to take it for a spin!
Sackboy: A Big Adventure | PS4, PS5
The latest Little Big Planet game is finally a free game on PS Plus. I’m happy about this as I never did get around to playing Sackboy: A Big Adventure when it launched alongside the PS5 back in 2020. Unlike past games in the franchise, this is a 3D platformer. It has both local and online co-op which should make it the perfect game for friends and families to enjoy. I know I’ll be playing this one with my kids in April, which should be quite nostalgic since we used to play the 2D Little Big Planet games together back in the day.
Tails of Iron | PS4, PS5
I’ve played a bit of Tails of Iron on Steam and it’s great. The graphics—hand-drawn, lushly colorful 2.5D—immerse you in the grim, Medieval fantasy world as Redgi, the heir to the Rat Throne, in your quest to defeat the Frog Clan, led by the evil Greenwart. I can’t wait to take this one for a spin on the PS5!
As you can see, this is an excellent month of free games. Hopefully Meet Your Maker is as fun as it sounds!
