It’s another big week for Pink Floyd – but is there ever really a bad week for the band? Despite the fact that the rockers are no longer releasing new music, the most famous set from that act’s discography is still a major win, decades after its release, as it’s become a must-own for anyone who considers themselves a record collector.
The Dark Side of the Moon is a hit yet again on the Billboard chart this week. It appears on two albums-focused rankings, climbing on one and breaking back onto another as sales of the set grow.
Pink Floyd Returns to the Vinyl Chart
It settles highest on the Vinyl Albums chart. That’s not entirely surprising, as it’s the ranking where Pink Floyd’s masterpiece usually can be found. The Dark Side of the Moon is one of the bestselling vinyl albums of all time, and it’s perhaps as famous these days among younger listeners for its cover than for the music featured on its tracklist.
This period, The Dark Side of the Moon reenters the Vinyl Albums chart, coming in at No. 22 after not appearing on the tally at all just a few days ago.
Pink Floyd Joins Charli XCX and Billie Eilish
Pink Floyd manages one of the five comebacks on the Vinyl Albums list. This time around, the band is beaten by Charli XCX’s Brat at No. 1, Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts at No. 5, and Doechii’s Alligator Bites Never Heal at No. 16. Billie Eilish’s Happier Than Ever settles a few spots beneath Pink Floyd as her sophomore set returns at No. 24.
The Dark Side of the Moon Keeps Selling
Luminate states that in the past tracking frame in America, The Dark Side of the Moonsold a little under 2,700 copies. That sum is up 6% from the period before, and it seems that the small increase was enough to bring it back to the Vinyl Albums chart.
Over on the Top Album Sales chart, The Dark Side of the Moon can also be found climbing. Pink Floyd ascends from No. 33 to No. 29 on that tally, which is not focused on solely wax. The set recently passed 500 frames as one of the top-selling titles in the U.S., and it continues its forward surge.
