As the holidays approach, most people’s health resolutions for the year have been put on a hard pause until January, when wellness goals and liquorless months start to luster. Luckily, for those desiring a healthy dose of straightforward facts, tips and expert motivation to stay or get on track, there’s an entire podcast network of experts available. Whatever version of wellness you may be seeking, Wellness Loud’s content is available to help you stay or get into better emotional and physical health.
It was the beginning of the pandemic when Drake Peterson, a member of the band Iration, connected with his Los Angeles neighbor, integrative nutritionist, Courtney Swan, MS. During the time when in-person concerts and live events seemed like a distant fantasy, Mrs. Swan, had ideas of scaling her small yet successful integrative nutrition business. Mr. Peterson, an audio expert, was her go-to source to field production inquiries. What started as a friendship quickly became a business relationship and Mr. Peterson’s own foray into the holistic health and wellness world.
Enter: Wellness Loud. A network of podcasts dedicated to broad areas of health with the goal of accessible information to all. Having a tough time sleeping? Trying to solve a medical mystery? There is something for everyone. “I turn a lot of people away,” Mr. Peterson laughed in response to the blossoming world of self-employment and content creation. While it may admittedly not be in his best business interest, he prides his team in being much more discerning than other production companies that are ready to turnkey and sign a program contract for an individual without giving them a proper vetting.
“It was all a happy accident,” Mr. Peterson cheerfully says when describing the inception of the media company with over 50M downloads. His own passion for the wellness world blossomed while producing the educationally rich content. “I learned a lot about my own health issues that I had no idea about.” The success and growth came naturally. Mrs. Swan’s original idea of starting an audio platform ballooned into Realfoodology, the integrative nutrition podcast and brand with a cult-like following. Last September, Mrs. Swan was a panelist at a senate roundtable discussion led by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.), titled American Health and Nutrition: A Second Opinion, alongside leading experts Dr. Jordan Peterson, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Dr. Casey Healy to discuss corrupt agricultural practices and accessibility to healthier produce.
Currently, Wellness Loud is host to eleven podcasts ranging from cookbook authors specializing in gut health like Bethany Cameron’s Digest This, ND’s like The Dr. Tyna Show, and the enormously popular Nothing Much Happens — where yoga and meditation teacher Kathryn Nicolai reads listeners to sleep with serene bedtime stories. The network also hosts spiritually rich and alternative modality shows like Heal Thy Self by Dr G .
Have a specific concern you’re looking for more information on? Wellness Loud’s website has a sophisticated integrated search option to vector-in on the precise subject you’re looking for across all of its platforms — versus a broad hunt that exists now for other streamers.
What’s next for Wellness Loud? Mr. Peterson has no plans of stopping when it comes to producing podcasts, and broadening his horizons beyond wellness. Having newly launched Loud Productions, Mr. Peterson is using the formula he created to branch out to other topics of interest. Which ones? He was coy in disclosing what we can expect from the next venture. He did, however, tease breaking ground on Dari Studio — a high-level podcasting, production, and lifestyle facility in Hollywood set to open next year. One thing is certain, however, “I’ll always be focused on accessible health information and amplifying voices that often go unheard.”
