What’s The Fastest Way To Get A Part-Time Remote Job?
The quickest way to land a part-time remote role is to join a gig platform such as TaskRabbit, Fiverr, etc. or start a freelance business.
In both cases, you’re in control of:
- How much you earn
- When you work
- And how many hours you work each week (to a great extent).
You dictate your working schedule and can even work in the evenings if it works better for you, or early in the morning before everyone gets up.
Being a freelancer means that you’re flexible and can still provide high-quality work while doing so on your own terms.
This is the fastest way to get a part-time remote job because you can start with your current skills almost immediately.
For example, in 2019 when I started my coaching business, I leveraged the limited skills and experience I had as a youth mentor and part-time library assistant, where I helped people edit their resumes occasionally, and turned this into an ad for career coaching and resume writing.
That one ad, which I launched on a freelance platform alongside my freelance marketplace profile, landed me a client within 24 hours, and brought me tons of other clients, several of whom are still in touch with me up to this day even though my business has transitioned and changed in focus.
I often credit my six-figure career success and evolution of my career and business to that one decision I made to capitalize on the “small” skills, the “insignificant” experience I had, and turn it into a part-time job that worked perfectly for me until I was ready to scale.
You don’t need to wait for permission from an employer, either. You can virtually create your own job and offer your services as a freelance professional.
And what’s even better, some of the employers listed in this article are looking for freelance talent too.
For example:
- Aquent is a creative, marketing, and digital recruiting agency that works with freelancers connecting them to projects and remote work opportunities.
- Language Line Solutions interpreter jobs are freelance, part-time, and remote.
- You can also check this article I wrote for a list of 31 Companies Hiring Remote Freelancers In 2025, which should afford you with more part-time remote work options.
If you’re looking for a way to work reduced hours while still bringing in some cashflow, it’s time to think outside the box and consider all your options, from freelancing, to seasonal contract work where possible, to exploring the part-time remote-friendly employers on this list.
You’ve got this.
