Bon Jovi returns to the charts in the United Kingdom this week with both a beloved single and one of its most successful albums in what has turned out to be a minor comeback for the rock icons. The band appears across several rankings that measure streaming and sales, which shows that the group isn’t only succeeding when it comes to one title, or even one form of consumption.
“You Give Love a Bad Name” Reappears
“You Give Love a Bad Name” returns to the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart this frame at No. 36. The cut first debuted on the tally in September 2009 and has spent more than 10 years on the list. It only recently fell off after an extended run, and it last showed up in late July.
“Livin’ on a Prayer” Lives on as Well
The band manages to fill two spots on the rock singles ranking this week. Alongside the returning “You Give Love a Bad Name,” the group’s signature anthem “Livin’ on a Prayer” holds on inside the top 20, though it dips slightly from No. 17 to No. 19. The track remains one of the most successful in the chart’s history, and it’s already reached No. 1.
Greatest Hits Returns to the Albums Streaming List
Bon Jovi also reappears on the Official Albums Streaming chart, as Greatest Hits comes back in at No. 100. The set previously peaked at No. 81 and has now spent 43 weeks on the ranking. At the moment, it stands as the only Bon Jovi album on any U.K. roster.
Decades-Old Hits and a 2010 Compilation
Both “You Give Love a Bad Name” and “Livin’ on a Prayer” were first released in the 1980s, and they helped establish Bon Jovi as one of the biggest rock acts of the decade. “You Give Love a Bad Name” arrived in 1986 as the lead single from Slippery When Wet, while “Livin’ on a Prayer” followed later that same year and quickly became the band’s signature song. The Greatest Hits compilation that returns to the Official Albums Streaming chart this week was issued in 2010, and it’s been the go-to way for millions to listen to the rockers ever since.
