Samsung is set to unveil its next-generation foldable phones at the Galaxy Unpacked event this week. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 could be the update we’ve waited years for, while the Galaxy Z Flip lineup could get a new entrant with the Z Flip 7 FE. Leaks and rumors point towards the biggest overhaul to the lineup in years. But that isn’t it. The foldables are likely to be joined by new Galaxy Watches as well as a teaser for the upcoming Samsung tri-fold.
We’re just a day away from the big launch event and here’s everything you can expect from the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked.
How To Watch The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked July 2025 Event?
Samsung confirmed late last month that the next Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on Wednesday, July 9, in New York. This follows the host cities of San Jose, USA, Paris, France, and Seoul, South Korea. Samsung says that it chose Brooklyn for its “bold ideas, creativity, and culture.”
The Galaxy Unpacked will be an in-person event but it’ll also be livestreamed on Samsung’s YouTube channel, so you can watch it live from the comfort of your home. The event is scheduled to start at 10 AM ET / 3 PM BST / 4 PM CET / 7:30 PM IST. You can also watch it in the embedded video above.
Samsung Galaxy Unpacked July 2025: What To Expect?
Unlike previous years, Samsung is said to announce three foldables in the Galaxy Z lineup, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. They could be joined by the Galaxy Watch 8 series.
Samsung launched the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro alongside the Fold 6 last year but there haven’t been any recent rumors pointing towards the launch on their successor.
Three Foldables: Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7 And Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE
Starting with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, it is touted to be the thinnest and lightest Fold ever. According to past reports, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 could finally challenge its Chinese competitors in foldable hardware design. It is said to measure just 4.54mm in the unfolded state, which doesn’t beat the Oppo foldable but gets very close. Even if it misses, the upcoming Fold 7 will be the thinnest and lightest foldable available in the US, beating the likes of the OnePlus Open and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
The new Samsung foldables will likely share the same chipset as the Galaxy S25 Ultra: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, but run on newer One UI 8, based on Android 16. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is said to feature a 6.5-inch external display and a bigger, 8-inch folding screen with a punch-hole camera notch. It might sport a 200MP main camera and pack a modest 4,400mAh battery.
As for the Galaxy Z Flip 7, it could have a larger 4.1-inch exterior display and a 6.9-inch main display, both supporting a 120Hz refresh rate and 2,600 nits brightness. It is rumored to be thinner and lighter than its predecessor. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE could be a lower-end flip phone to compete with Motorola’s new Razr phone.
New Galaxy Watches
Samsung is almost guaranteed to launch its next smartwatch lineup. The Galaxy Watch 8 might come in 40mm and 44mm sizes, with an option for Wi-Fi-only or LTE-enabled. It will carry over many of the specs from the Galaxy Watch 7 but in a new squarcle design, borrowed from the Galaxy Watch Ultra. You can expect it to have 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage at a minimum.
We don’t know for sure if Samsung will upgrade the processor but the upcoming Watch 8 series should offer IP68 dust and water resistance, AMOLED displays with up to 2,000 nits brightness and a more premium look and feel.
What Else?
While Samsung launched the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and Galaxy Smart Ring in July last year, there are no rumors pointing towards the launch of their respective successors. However, Samsung is said to tease its upcoming tri-fold at the Galaxy Unpacked July 2025 event – just like it showcased the Galaxy S25 Edge at the January Unpacked event.
