For months now, Lisa has been racking up hit after hit all around the world. The Blackpink singer spent more than half a year pushing her once-upcoming debut solo album Alter Ego with a multitude of singles. As the full-length arrives and becomes a bestseller, the K-pop and hip-hop talent somewhat disappoints when it comes to turning the tunes featured on the project into hits this week.
In the United Kingdom, only two tracks from Alter Ego land on the charts. One of her previous releases bounds up multiple rankings, while just one tune that was only shared when the full-length dropped in full manages to debut, and it arrives to something of a lackluster reception.
“Fxck Up the World” Disappoints
“Fxck Up the World” has been selected as the latest single from Alter Ego. It’s off to a very slow start in the U.K., as it only debuts on one chart. The tune kicks off its time on the Official Singles Downloads ranking at No. 96.
The roster only features 100 spaces, so the cut — which credits rapper Future on the full-length, though he’s not named on the chart — barely manages to find space as one of the top-selling downloads in the nation.
Lisa’s History on the Charts
Throughout her solo career, Lisa has now seen seven tracks reach the Official Singles Downloads chart. “Fxck Up the World” is easily her worst performer, as it’s the only tune that has yet to crack the top 40.
Before this frame, her debut win, “Money,” which arrived in 2021, held that dubious distinction. That tune spent just one frame at No. 32 before falling away. Now, Lisa’s latest focus track has performed much worse, as “Fxck Up the World” disappoints.
“Born Again” is Growing This Week
Alter Ego‘s previous single, “Born Again,” is growing. The tune, a collaboration with both Doja Cat and Raye, appears on four lists in the U.K., and it climbs on all of them. The track nearly reenters the top 40 on three of the four lists, missing out on doing so by just a few spaces.
Alter Ego Enjoys a Warm Reception
Alter Ego itself is a big win in the country. The full-length debuts on half a dozen charts, kicking off its time inside the top 10 on three that are focused specifically on pure purchases. The Blackpink musician’s first project on her own enters the Official Albums chart — the ranking of the most-consumed projects throughout the U.K. — at No. 20, which is a notable position for a soloist from the K-pop space.
