Feisty funnyman and happy global eater, Phil Rosenthal is back! His award-winning food-and-travel show, Somebody Feed Phil, will premiere its eagerly anticipated 7th season on March 1 with eight new Netflix episodes. On this around-the-world gustatory adventure, Rosenthal steers viewers to diverse and delectable destinations: Dubai, Mumbai, Kyoto, Taipei, Washington D.C., Orlando (with a twist), Scotland and Iceland.
He brings along beloved family members and meets up with well-known friends (comedians, writers, artists) who are also filmed at Somebody Feed Phil locations. They chat and chew, laugh and lean into the proverbial joy of breaking bread together. His brother, Richard, is the showrunner and executive producer, as well as his behind-the-cameras sidekick. How feel-good is their shared venture? They named their production company: Lucky Bastards.
Eat, Smile, Hug
Rosenthal’s ever-increasing multitude of fans have clamored for this new season, which is rich in fun narratives about eating, drinking, sightseeing, being open to discover fresh experiences, laughing, loving, sharing and caring. Rosenthal’s strong appeal is driven by his tender on-and-off-screen outlook; his philanthropic commitment to charities and nonprofit organizations, especially grass-root endeavors, is remarkable.
What ties all of these elements into an uplifting package is Rosenthal’s sense of humor—sometimes goofy, always good-hearted. His TV resume is rooted in comedy. Rosenthal was creator, writer and showrunner/executive producer of the sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond, starring comedian Ray Romano, which ran for nine seasons on CBS.
