Updated Nov. 22 with details of price cuts for iPhone 17 Pro Max.
The latest price cuts to the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max at Amazon mean the phone is better value than ever. Here are full details of which phones have just come down in price.

Apple likes to stick to a routine (even if it also likes to be unpredictable). So, every September Apple announces new iPhones and removes the Pro models that led the previous series from sale. So, how do you buy an iPhone 16 Pro if the 17 Pro is just too pricey? The good news is, the Pro phones are still available elsewhere, and they are cheaper than before as they’ve become refurbished models.
You can buy refurbished iPhones direct from Apple, but the most recent model in the refurbished store is the iPhone 15 Pro Max (full details here), and that’s not likely to change for months.
But Amazon has its own refurbished offering, called Renewed, and the best quality is its Renewed Premium models. Amazon says this means there are no scratches on the display and cosmetic damage should not be visible from a foot away. The battery is at least 90% or original battery life.
The prices for these models change and, in the last few weeks, they’ve been coming down. They’re a lot less than they were in August, and often $40 less than in late October.
Not every model is available: the version with 128GB storage which originally sold for $999 when new, is only available in models tied to individual networks.
For unlocked, which is what most people may want, you need to choose a model with 256GB storage or more.
You’d originally have paid $1,099 for 256GB storage in new condition, but it’s here at Amazon for $779.97 in black titanium which is $319 less than the new price. Desert titanium and white titanium are also available unlocked for a little more: $784.97. Both prices are around $40 less than they were in late October.
Amazon also has 512GB storage models in two colors, though only one has dropped in price. That’s the black titanium which has dropped around $25 in recent weeks to $884.97, while natural titanium is now $894.97, which has gone up $17 compared to earlier this month, but is still more than $400 off the new price.
Finally, the 1TB storage level which originally cost $1,499 new is now $1079.97 in black titanium and $1,089.97 in natural titanium, both a little lower than previously and more than $400 off the new price.
The iPhone 16 Pro Max is also available at Amazon in Renewed Premium condition and prices have dropped noticeably even since the beginning of November.
The lowest storage level for the 16 Pro Max is 256GB and that originally sold new for $1,199. Prices for Renewed Premium were between $921 and $929 less than three weeks ago but are now a lot lower. Black titanium costs $862.97 from Amazon here. That’s around $336 less than the new price. Desert titanium is $867.97, white titanium is $873.27 and natural titanium costs $864.99.
For 512GB storage, originally $1,399 when new, you can pick it up in Renewed Premiu for $952.99 in desert titanium, that’s $446 off. Black titanium is $954.17, natural titanium is $969.97 and white titanium is $989.97. All these prices are lower by $43 or more than they were in early November.
Finally, the top storage level. The 1TB iPhone 16 Pro Max sold new for $1,599 but is now available in Renewed Premium for $1,034.05 in white titanium, a savings of $564.95 against the new price. The other colors are $1,049.97 — all cheaper than they were at the start of November.
I’ll update this post if prices change further.
