A mimosa made with buffalo sauce? Or coffee? Or cheddar cheese? Or crab?
These flavored mimosas might sound a bit out there, but they are actual mimosas. To kick off its first season as the official sparkling wine of the NFL, André California Champagne is celebrating with 32 “Team-Mosas” or mimosas made with the local specialty food of each NFL team.
Plenty of tailgaters whip up some mimosas before a game, says Beth Orozco, vice president of marketing at GALLO, which owns Andrė California Champagne. “It started as a ‘what if’ moment that spiraled,” she says.
“André keeps showing up as the go-to tailgate mixer for mimosas, and as we were brainstorming about ways to celebrate our first year as the official sparkling wine sponsor, someone joked about mixing hometown foods with our bubbs,” she says. “Instead of shutting it down, we leaned in hard. It made sense because football fans already take their hometown flavors seriously, and André has already thrived on playful chaos.”
So André worked with a team of expert sommeliers to craft hometown “team-mosa” recipes. The cheddar cheese goes into the CheeseMosa for the Green Bay Packers while the BuffaloSauceMosa is obviously for the Buffalo Bills. The Seattle Seahawks embrace the CoffeeMosa while the CrabMosa goes to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
“Team-Mosas speak to people who believe game day should be loud, proud, and a little unhinged, in the best way possible,” Orozco says. “With mimosas as the official tailgate drink this season, we expect the reception to be nothing short of celebratory.”
Of course, there’s a contest, too, for fans to participate in and show their home team some love. Through December 1, fans can visit andre-champagne.com/team-mosa.html to cast a vote for their favorite Team-Mosa, the recipe they believe deserves to be brought to life.
The mosa with the most votes may be bottled or canned with the title of the ultimate Team-Mosa. After voting closes, over 500 fans will win a reusable Team-Mosa bottle and gift card* for a bottle of André to create an MVP-worthy mimosa at their next tailgate.
To be the first to submit a vote and watch the Team-Mosas climb the rankings, fans can follow along on the André website, Instagram, and Facebook.
Orozco says this will resonate with foodies and “every fan who says ‘I’d try anything once.”
This promotion is also on trend. Research shows younger consumers are especially hungry for bold, experimental flavors: one study found that nearly 35% of tailgaters prepare themed meals related to the team’s mascot or colors.
“Gen Z has grown up on food-trend culture—think TikTok recipes, and extreme flavor drops,” she says. “For them, trying something wild isn’t weird; it’s entertainment.”

Well, André’s never been afraid to stir the pot or shake the bottle.”
