André California Champagne is kicking off its first season as the Official Sparkling Wine Sponsor of the NFL with a message made perfectly clear: this is not brunch. This is football. And the brand is planning a takeover of tailgate culture unlike anything the league has ever seen.
To celebrate the partnership, André is launching the André Tailgate Team-Mosa—a lineup of 32 wild, hometown-inspired mimosa recipes, one for every NFL team. These aren’t delicate brunch cocktails. These are unapologetically over-the-top, fiercely local, occasionally unhinged, and engineered specifically for fans who bleed team colors.
And the spark for this idea wasn’t a boardroom moment—it was pure tailgate anthropology.
“Honestly, the idea came straight from the parking lot. Mimosas are the new official tailgate drink and André is what the fans keep reaching for,” Beth Orozco, Vice President of Marketing at Gallo tells me over email. “We’ve seen fans’ passion when it comes to their team and hometown pride. It’s inspirational, unapologetic and something we wanted to champion. Food embodies cities, teams and states but it’s not the same when it comes to what you drink. We saw an opening to change that.”
The Team-Mosa lineup is exactly that change. Think a MilkMosa in Minnesota, a QuesoMosa in Dallas, a RanchMosa in Indianapolis, or a CheeseMosa in Wisconsin. In Buffalo? Hot sauce. In Cincinnati? Skyline-style chili. In New Orleans? Powdered sugar rims. In Seattle? Coffee concentrate. The message is clear: if your city loves it, André will turn it into a mimosa.
But for a collection this wild, one question looms: are these drinks actually good?
The Flavor Lab Behind the Chaos
David Warter, Chief Beverage Officer at Gallo, is the man who had to turn these tailgate fever dreams into something drinkable.
“We approached them like culinary experiments, with real structure and a little chaos,” Warter tells me. “First, we mapped out the hometown flavors each fanbase lives and dies by. Then, our sommeliers and flavor pros went into full mad-scientist mode… until each one hit the sweet spot between ‘this is insane’ and ‘wait… WOW!’ If it didn’t taste good, it didn’t make the list—no matter how iconic the ingredient.”
And one flavor experiment stunned even the experts: the Colts’ RanchMosa.
“Hands down: the RanchMosa. On paper, it was the one that made everyone in the room raise an eyebrow and take a step back… and yet, somehow, it totally does.” Warter says. “Once we balanced the creaminess with the sparkling wine’s acidity, it turned into this unexpectedly smooth, tangy, bright sip… It went from ‘might just be a fever dream’ to ‘why is this actually good?’ in one taste test.”
Orozco says that confidence—being bold and a little mischievous—is exactly why André is the right brand to pull off something this unhinged.
“We’re not about white tablecloths or pinkies up. André is the people’s bubbly—the one that shows up at your tailgate, your cookout, your victory party. We’re not just sparkle, we’re spirit. We’ve never been afraid to get weird and keep it tasty.”
She adds: “If anyone was going to pull off a MilkMosa without shocking the universe, it was us.”
Not Shock Value—Hometown Respect
Despite how outrageous these recipes sound, André insists the goal wasn’t shock—it was sincerity.
“We treated every flavor with hometown-level respect,” Warter says. “The goal wasn’t to make shock-value drinks—it was to bottle the spirit of each city… We weren’t creating dares… we were creating real flavor experiences inspired by real fan culture.”
Some ingredients—especially dairy—were notably hard to tame.
“Anything with dairy definitely came with challenges… Milk, queso, cheese… Dairy and bubbles don’t naturally get along, so we had to test and tweak until the texture and balance were just right.”
But everything that made the cut, Warter insists, is genuinely enjoyable—if you’re brave and fast: “the dairy-based Team-Mosas do taste shockingly good, but you’ve gotta drink them right away.”
The Fan Challenge: Only One Team-Mosa Will Be Bottled
Beginning November 20 through December 1, fans can visit the brand’s website to vote for the Team-Mosa they believe deserves to be bottled or canned for next football season.
The winning city earns bragging rights and an official André release. Plus: 500 fans who vote will win free André and a Team-Mosa bottle to bring their hometown flavor to life at their next tailgate.

A New Era of Tailgate Drinks
With Team-Mosas, André isn’t just sponsoring the NFL—they’re rewriting the rules of tailgate drinking.
These mimosas are wild. They’re engineered for team loyalty, not brunch civility. And they’re designed for fans who want their pregame drink to taste like home—whether that’s ranch dressing, giardiniera brine, bagels, pickles, burnt ends, or cold brew.
As Orozco puts it: “When we became the Official Sparkling Wine Sponsor of the NFL, we wanted to create something that felt unmistakably André: bold, playful, and built for the fans.”
Because nothing says team spirit like raising a glass of something you’re slightly afraid of.
