When it comes to all-inclusive resorts, food can often feel like an afterthought—a necessary amenity rather than a focused highlight. At Princess Senses the Mangrove in Jamaica, however, dining is a headline act. With eight unique à la carte restaurants, two international buffets, food trucks, coffee shops and even exclusive Platinum Club venues, the property has designed a gastronomic program intended to rival standalone fine dining destinations. Plus, it was named the Best New Resort by The World Travel Awards.
It’s a culinary choose-your-own-adventure at this family-friendly resort, where “each space has its own personality, expressed through bespoke décor, ambient lighting, music and sensory details all carefully curated to ensure that every meal feels like a world of its own,” writes Food and Beverage Director Diana Domínguez in an email. “Guests can embark on a week-long culinary journey without repeating an experience.”
Everything To Know About Dining At Princess Senses The Mangrove
The Restaurant Rundown
The scale is impressive: guests can move from Japanese teppanyaki to authentic Jamaican comfort food, from artisanal brick-oven pizza to an upscale steakhouse, all without leaving the resort grounds. Specialty chefs helm each kitchen, bringing authenticity and passion to their menus.
Each restaurant is designed with its own personality, but “no visit is complete without savoring two local treasures,” writes Domínguez, which includes Jamaican Braised Oxtail: slow-cooked to fall-off-the-bone tenderness, and the authentic, island-spiced Jamaican Curry from Jamrock. Both dishes pay homage to the island’s rich culinary heritage, Domínguez explains.
One unique highlight is the floating breakfast delivered right to your door. Choose between the Jamaican Breakfast (ackee and saltfish with Johnny cakes or boiled food: yam, green bananas or boiled dumplings) or the International Breakfast: eggs, pancakes and your choice of bacon or sausage. All meals are served with fresh breads and pastries, juice and coffee or tea.
Can You Really Spend A Week Without Repeating A Meal?
The answer is yes—and then some. Princess Senses the Mangrove has built its concept around both variety and quality, with fresh local produce, seafood and imported ingredients all hand-selected daily by the culinary team. The result is a menu rotation that feels ever-changing, even for guests spending a week or more on property.
Theme nights add further layers: a lively Caribbean Night, an extravagant Seafood Celebration or an indulgent fine-dining experience under the stars. For those who prefer to dine in, an elevated in-room menu is available, while the resort’s sports bar stays open until 4 a.m. for late-night cravings.
“Every meal is designed to be a new chapter in their stay,” Domínguez notes.
Is The Platinum Club Necessary?
For those booking Platinum Suites or Overwater Villas, the culinary journey reaches another level. Guests gain access to two semi à la carte restaurants, with menus that feature refined dishes like duck breast, lamb, ribeye and escargots served in an intimate atmosphere.
That said, the Platinum Club isn’t necessary to have an incredible stay at Princess. Still, if you prefer a more private experience, the exclusive rooftop pool and quiet atmosphere might make it worth the upgrade.
