Predictions for the Survivor Series Main Event
Let’s keep it plain and simple. Things seem to be trending toward this matchup in the main event at Survivor Series in a WarGames match.
John Cena, Roman Reigns, CM Punk and the Usos vs. The Vision (Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed), Logan Paul, Brock Lesnar and ???
The original plans for WarGames seemed to have included Seth Rollins with the Vision. However, his legit injury pushed WWE to break the faction up a bit before it was initially planned to split. With that concept done, the rework appears to be centered around Punk and Jey Uso in a feud with The Vision.
That’s what played out during the final segment of Raw, and Paul’s interjection into the mix seemed to make this idea all the more probable. Even with Paul seemingly aligning with The Vision, they need two more people.
The WWE is likely to try to insert Lesnar into their biggest PLEs for the next 4-6 months. Survivor Series would qualify. His alignment with Heyman was already teased at WrestlePalooza when the latter introduced Lesnar ahead of his demolition of Cena in Indianapolis.
They would still need a fifth, but I’ll get back to the heel side in a moment.
It seems obvious Punk and Uso will be aligned. If Lesnar is in with The Vision and Heyman, it would only make sense for this to be where Cena fits in. Because Jey Uso is in, I can see him recruiting Jimmy to fill one of the other spots.
Adding Reigns would push the level of star power to a point that feels right for the main event of one of WWE’s biggest shows—on Thanksgiving weekend no less.
As for that fifth member of The Vision’s team, I expect it to be the next member joining the faction—officially. I don’t know if Paul is going to be an official member. However, I do believe the fifth member could be kept a secret until the night of the event.
That fifth person could be former US Champion, Austin Theory. I’ve heard Theory is being rebooted for a major run upon his return, and this spot would be a major springboard for him. Imagine if Theory is unveiled as part of the Last Time is Now Tournament and wins it to earn a shot at being Cena’s opponent in the legend’s final match.
Remember, Theory faced and defeated Cena at WrestleMania 39 in a forgettable match. This could be a second opportunity for Theory to show and prove and get the relaunch WWE is likely planning for him.
If Theory is also in Survivor Series, it could be a strong prelude to a match with Cena on the final date of the GOAT’s career at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13 in Washington, D.C.
Stay tuned, as this could be an eventful month in WWE.
