While celebrity skincare lines show no signs of slowing down, a new collaboration between an existing luxury brand and a Grammy-winning pop star has stepped into the crowded arena with the debut of DUA. In collaboration with luxury skincare brand Augustinus Bader, DUA aims to deliver high-performance, low-maintenance routines for busy lives like her own.
The line, which debuted this week, launched with just three essential daily products aimed at consumers with hectic lifestyles seeking effective routines — a stark contrast to the expansive, multi-step routines often created by other celebrity skincare lines.
The collaboration, which took over three years to develop, uses Augustinus Bader’s patented Trigger Factor Complex (TFC5™), originally inspired by Dr. Bader’s medical treatments on severe burn victims at his first clinic in Dusseldorf, Germany.
Ms. Lipa, 30, has included Augustinus Bader’s products in her favorite skincare round-ups and features for years, crediting them with helping her maintain good skin amid her rigorous touring and heavy-handed stage makeup. “Using their TFC5™technology, the DUA Collection adapts to your skin’s unique needs, enhancing its health and resilience over time. My hope is that these become your daily essentials too – at home, on the go, and everywhere in between.” Ms. Lipa said in the line’s official press release.
The compact lineup includes the Balancing Cream Cleanser — a gentle formula with prebiotics, algae extract, and tsunami oil to remove impurities without disrupting the skin mantle; the Supercharged Glow Complex, a serum packed with marine bio-retinol, niacinamide (Vitamin B3), ectoin and glycerol glucoside for hydration, brightening, and barrier protection; and the Renewal Cream. A lightweight moisturizer with pre and post-biotic to reduce redness and prevent blemishes.
Priced between $40 and $80, DUA positions itself as, “accessible luxury” — certainly more affordable than products from Augustinus Bader’s celebrated, core line, which can exceed $300 per product.
The debut does come, predictably, with skepticism toward the influx of celebrity beauty brands, with some consumers on X expressing fatigue over what the see as an already crowded arena. Others on Reddit were more enthusiastic, with posts praising the science-driven approach, simplicity, and more affordable price points than AB’s core line.
Still, DUA aims to stand out by emphasizing efficacy over excess. “I created this skincare line to be my everyday essential – a skincare routine that’s clean, effective, and effortless.”
