Morgan Wallen is preparing to release what may turn out to be the biggest country album in recent memory. His upcoming full-length, I’m the Problem, has already delivered more than half a dozen hits — and fans still have over 20 more tracks to look forward to once it drops. As excitement for the set builds, Wallen’s latest single, “I Ain’t Coming Back,” a collaboration with Post Malone, gives him yet another huge hit — and it helps him break a record he only recently set himself.
“I Ain’t Coming Back” Debuts on the Hot 100
“I Ain’t Coming Back” opens at No. 8 on the Hot 100 this week. As it arrives, it becomes the sixth tune from I’m the Problem to reach the highest tier on Billboard’s ranking of the most-consumed songs in the U.S. The cut, which unites two of the biggest names in the American music industry, marks Wallen’s latest immediate success from a project that has already produced more smashes than most sets will during an entire campaign.
I’m the Problem Charts a Record Six Top 10s
Wallen’s I’m the Problem is now the first album in U.S. history to spawn six top 10 hits on the Hot 100 before its official release. Just a few weeks ago, the full-length became the first project to generate five top 10 smashes prior to dropping, when the title track soared to No. 2 on the tally. Now, he extends his own record.
“I Ain’t Coming Back” Is a Quick Winner Across All Metrics
Billboard reports that “I Ain’t Coming Back” performed well across all three metrics that feed into the Hot 100’s methodology: sales, streaming, and radio play. In its first frame, the collaboration earned 19.5 million streams on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, sold 6,000 copies, and reached a radio audience of 2.9 million listeners.
Given the star power behind the track, it’s all but guaranteed that “I Ain’t Coming Back” will continue growing in popularity in the coming weeks. Radio airplay – especially on country radio – will likely play a large role in its future success.
Morgan Wallen’s Long Album Campaign
Wallen began rolling out singles from I’m the Problem back in July 2024, kicking off the campaign with “Lies Lies Lies,” which soared to No. 7 on the Hot 100. He followed that early success with “Love Somebody,” his latest track to debut at No. 1.
After that, Wallen continued to notch more top 10 hits with “Smile” (No. 4), “I’m the Problem” (No. 2), and “Just In Case” (No. 4) – and now, with “I Ain’t Coming Back” also entering the highest tier, he’s furthered his winning streak.
I’m the Problem is scheduled for release later this year, and with the impressive momentum it’s already demonstrated – as well as Wallen’s starpower – it’s shaping up to be another massive bestseller for the country favorite. His last album, One Thing at a Time, spent an incredible 19 frames at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and is one of the longest-charting top 10 titles of all time.
