It seems like it’s been two months since we saw a UFC pay-per-view, but thankfully the No. 1 MMA promotion is back with a mega event on Saturday, April 12, in Miami for UFC 314.
The PPV will be headlined by a battle for the now-vacant UFC featherweight championship. Former champion Alexander Volkanovski will look to regain the title he lost when he was knocked out by Ilia Topuria in February 2024.
Volkanovski faces No. 3 contender Diego Lopes.
The latter is on a five-fight win streak as he has waited for the opportunity to capture gold. In the co-main event, former Bellator champion Michael Chandler faces rising lightweight star Paddy Pimblett.
Chandler desperately needs a victory, and he’ll represent the most significant name Pimblett has faced on his rise to stardom. Pimblett comes into the fight ranked No. 12 at lightweight, while Chandler is No. 7.
A loss for Chandler would likely send him tumbling out of the Top 10, and Pimblett will take his place—one step closer to the title opportunity he seeks.
Here is a look at the entire card:
- Alexander Volkanovski vs. Diego Lopes – UFC Featherweight Championship
- Michael Chandler vs. Paddy Pimblett – Lightweight
- Bryce Mitchell vs. Jean Silva – Featherweight
- Yair Rodriguez vs. Patricio Pitbull – Featherweight

The UFC 314 Main Card is Stacked
In addition to the main and co-main event, we’ll also see Jean Silva take on Bryce Mitchell. This fight has some major appeal for a multitude of reasons.
Mitchell is one of the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners in the world, and Silva is a well-rounded fighter who packs about as heavy a punch as anyone in the featherweight division.
In addition to that interesting stylistic concept, fans will also be watching because Mitchell is the fighter who made the racist, anti-Semitic comments on his podcast that caused a stir earlier this year.
After the comments, Silva asked for the fight—and his wish was granted. He wants to make Mitchell eat his words. Many will be watching to see if Silva can complete his mission.
Also on the main card, we get to see the promotional debut of another Bellator legend, Patricio Pitbull. After requesting and being granted his release from the Professional Fighters League, Pitbull signed with the UFC and has landed a major fight on one of the year’s biggest cards.
Pitbull will take on former UFC interim champion Yair Rodriguez. It’s been 14 months since Rodriguez was last in the Octagon. Rodriguez has lost back-to-back fights for the first time in his career.
He needs a win to stay in the title hunt at 145 pounds. If he can turn back Pitbull and win his next fight, he could make a case to fight for the title early in 2026.
It’s going to be an excellent night of fights at the Kaseya Center. Stay locked in this week for more information on the card.
