Do you ever get that feeling, when you’re booking for a group, that you’re not sure how to handle logistics once on the ground? The first in a series of members-only rental homes, collectively called Guesthouse, will be able to solve a lot of those practical issues when it opens to guests later this year.
A Design-Forward Private Home In Tahoe
The Ryan Group Architects-designed home will comfortably sleep 10 guests and will come with a private chef, a private driver, a 24/7 house captain, and a local guide to orient you to Tahoe. It’s a mile from the Truckee-Tahoe Airport and within a short drive of the best ski resorts in the area.
The 4,500-square-foot residence has four bedrooms, including three king-sized suites, and five-and-a-half baths as well as spacious indoor and outdoor common areas. Guesthouse Lake Tahoe will be fully stocked with customizable amenities depending on your group — family celebrations, business retreats, multi-generational reunions, etc. The home’s central great room features a wraparound fireplace, dining room and open kitchen, an upstairs loft, a fully finished flex-garage space with a kitchenette and mountain views, and a media room for screening films, holding meetings, or whatever you like.
At the heart of the experience is the generous outdoor space, including three decks with views of both town and the mountains, a fire pit, and even a hitching post where guests can tie up their horses before or after a ride. And it’s right above Truckee’s buzzing Main Street, accesibile just steps from the door. Next door, at Titus House, will be Guesthouse Pantry, an upscale bakery and café that will be open to the public.
Interiors were done by an eclectic mix of designers, including Halfdan Pedersen, Olympia Pearl of Olympia Pearl Design, and Sally Lyons of Blue Skies 3D. Furniture and art were selected by the Michael Hsu Office Of Architecture,
The Idea Behind Guesthouse
Guesthouse founder Trevor Cornwell says, “Guesthouse Lake Tahoe offers more than just a beautiful retreat. It’s an inspiring environment with unparalleled hospitality where people feel genuinely cared for and welcomed. We want our guests to really connect with each other and with this special place.” He says the central idea here is to take the planning out of group stays. The onsite team takes care of private transfer coordination, customized meal preparation, itinerary planning, and special events coordination, along with walkway shoveling, grocery shopping, and dog walking to ensure that guests can focus on enjoying their time in Tahoe.
