While BTS may be on a temporary break as several of its members complete their mandatory military service, J-Hope is still working hard on his own after finishing his duty to his country. He seems to be working toward a new collection of some kind, but as fans wait for a proper announcement of an album or an EP, they seem happy to continue to support every tune he shares. This week, J-Hope returns to the charts in the United Kingdom with yet another solo smash.
“Mona Lisa” Debuts High
J-Hope’s latest single “Mona Lisa” launches on three separate tallies in the U.K. this frame, and it performs exceptionally well on two of them. The track opens at No. 1 on both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads charts, immediately becoming the bestselling song in the country.
While “Mona Lisa” wasn’t issued on CD or vinyl — at least not yet — the song still manages to beat out every other cut on the sales-based rankings, as fans rushed to platforms like iTunes to buy it the moment it became available.
Another Pair of No. 1s for J-Hope
With this new win, J-Hope collects his third solo No. 1 on both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads rankings. That count doesn’t even include the many times he’s ruled these tallies as part of BTS, which ups his number to an even more impressive sum.
The BTS alum first reached the summit on both lists in 2024 with “Neuron,” a collaboration with fellow South Korean stars Gaeko and Yoon Mirae. Just last month, he repeated that success with “Sweet Dreams,” a duet with R&B powerhouse Miguel.
“Mona Lisa” Hits the Singles Chart
In addition to dominating the purchase-based charts, “Mona Lisa” also finds space on the main Official Singles chart, which blends both sales and streaming data to rank the most-consumed tracks across the country.
This time around, J-Hope’s latest solo release lands at No. 56 on the competitive roster. That might not be a top 10 placement, but it’s still a notable showing for a digital-only cut from a K-pop soloist. It earns the rapper and singer his seventh entry on the chart.
J-Hope’s Consistent Track Record
When it comes to the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads charts, J-Hope has managed to display remarkable consistency in regards to scoring bestsellers. “Mona Lisa” marks his sixth top 10 on the former and his seventh on the latter. Altogether, he has now sent nine different songs to both purchase-focused rankings in the U.K.
“Sweet Dreams” is Still Charting
Even as “Mona Lisa” starts strong, J-Hope’s previous solo win isn’t going anywhere just yet. “Sweet Dreams” with Miguel is still performing well across a number of tallies in the U.K. It drops to No. 54 on the Official Singles Sales chart and slips to No. 91 on the Official Singles Downloads list. The track also continues to hold on in the physical realm, as it’s still inside the top 10 on the Official Physical Singles list, landing at No. 6 in its third frame.
