It’s been a while since fans heard anything brand new from Haim. The sister trio stepped out of the spotlight for a bit – as much as one group can while joining Taylor Swift on her The Eras Tour – and taking time to reset, regroup, and get back into the studio. After a lengthy stretch without much new material, the band is officially back, and it didn’t take long for the act’s latest release to turn into a hit.
Haim’s “Relationships” Debuts
“Relationships,” the latest single by Haim, opens on a pair of Billboard rankings this frame, and it earns a top 40 strat on both of them. The cut performs best on the Hot Alternative Songs chart, which ranks the most-consumed alternative-only tracks in the U.S. every week. There, the track launches at No. 17.
Just a few rungs below that position, the band also appears on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. On that tally, “Relationships” begins its time at No. 23. That ranking features the top-performing titles that fall under both the rock and alternative umbrellas, making it slightly more competitive.
Haim’s Single Reaches Multiple Tallies
As “Relationships” lands at No. 17 on the Hot Alternative Songs chart, Haim scores just its third-ever placement on that tally. Over on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, the act is far more successful. This latest debut marks its sixteenth showing on the list.
Haim’s First New Song in Years
“Relationships” marks the first completely new tune from Haim in quite some time. The last track the trio released was “Home,” which appeared on the Barbie movie soundtrack in 2023. Prior to that, the band shared a one-off single titled “Lost Track,” which didn’t make a major commercial impact.
Back in 2021, the group was still promoting its album Women in Music Pt. III with the single “Gasoline.” That track featured Swift and managed to become another special win for the band, thanks largely to the starpower that the Eras Tour powerhouse brought to the table.
Danielle Haim Also Scores a Solo Win
As Haim returns to the Billboard charts, one of its members is enjoying a solo surge at the same time. Danielle Haim appears alongside Bon Iver on a new single titled “If Only I Could Wait,” which also reaches the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. The track starts at No. 44 this period.
With “Relationships” now officially charting and a new chapter beginning, it looks like Haim is ready to jump back into full promotional mode. The band’s last album, Women in Music Pt. III, dropped in 2020 and was met with critical acclaim. Five years is a long time to wait for a project, but the sisters will surely make the patience exhibited by fans worth it.
