The Western aesthetic is back. From Western-inspired looks on the runways of Louis Vuitton, Prada and Celine, Cowboycore is dominating the runways.
It isn’t just fashion, but accessories. Now, Cass Dimicco’s accessories brand Aureum, is launching their new Heritage Collection, which features 15 new Western-inspired belts for spring. From suede finishes to pony hair belts, the collection adds a touch of rustic charm to your spring accessories. The collection is available today on the Aureum website, and on Nordstrom, Revolve, Fwrd, Shopbop and Neiman Marcus.
“The appeal of Western fashion lies in its effortless balance of rugged utility and refined craftsmanship,” said DiMicco. “It speaks to a way of life—rooted in tradition yet constantly evolving. There’s an ease to it, an unspoken confidence that translates seamlessly across cultures.”
Even if you’re not wearing a cowboy hat down Fifth Avenue, there’s still subtle ways to incorporate it into your spring looks. “It’s about subtlety; allowing the accessory to do the styling,” said DiMicco. “A statement belt with sculptural hardware instantly nods to the Western spirit without the need for overt references. Pair it with structured denim or tailored trousers, letting the textures and details speak for themselves rather than leaning into obvious nostalgia.”
The collection features new styles, like their Western buckle, which honors tradition, while making it light enough to fit into the modern woman’s closet. It’s part of the brand’s ethos of “real life styling,” which aims to inject bold style into accessories, which blends well with minimal attire.
Aureum, which was founded in 2019, is an “influencer brand” known for building a DTC brand from zero budget, with promotion on social media. Worn by Kylie Jenner and Bella Hadid, the brand reached seven figures in sales in their first year of business.
The brand’s belt styles are numbered from one through 14 (No. 10 is among their bestsellers list), but have introduced No. 15 as a new style, as well as the No. 16 belt, which will be available in black, black croc, umber croc and linen. “The Western influence of No.15 is intricate, refined, and unlike anything else in our collection,” said DiMicco. “I’m drawn to the interplay of structure and softness; polished leather belts with bold, sculptural buckles styled over fluid tailoring. The solid pony offers a subtle yet elevated way to introduce texture, while No. 2 remains a timeless favorite, it’s a limited-edition statement piece that defines any look.”
Craftsmanship is becoming scarce in an era of fast fashion. Time-honored slow fashion techniques, like leather-making and millinery, help save waste with smaller production runs. “Heritage is the foundation of our new collection, meaning time-honored craftsmanship, luxury materials and the idea that pieces should be lived in and passed down,” she said.
The brand is known for its intricately detailed statement belts, like the gold-studded No. 2 belt; a bold style that can dress up an outfit. Its popularity proves statement belts are here to stay. “There’s nothing else like it on the market,” said DiMicco. “The stud detailing—uniquely crafted and inspired by one of our archival rings—adds a distinctive touch. It’s a statement piece with timeless sensibility, effortlessly elevating even the simplest looks.”
DiMicco sees statement belts as their own unique category. “It’s a piece of jewelry, reimagined as a belt,” she said. “It’s an effortless way to introduce depth and make a bold, yet refined statement. More than just an accessory, it anchors the look, defining the silhouette, adding contrast, and bringing intention to styling. Both functional and expressive, it remains a timeless essential.”
