Billie Eilish’s latest album, Hit Me Hard and Soft is fast approaching its one-year anniversary. The singer-songwriter dropped the project in mid-May 2024, and it’s been performing spectacularly ever since. The title still holds the No. 1 spot on multiple Billboard rankings and remains inside the top 10 on nearly all of the half-dozen lists on which it still appears.
While Americans are still clearly loving Hit Me Hard and Soft, and especially its current single, “Birds of a Feather,” Eilish’s fans in the U.S. are not consuming just that one project. Her sophomore full-length is gaining ground across the board and even manages to return to multiple lists this time around.
Happier Than Ever can currently be found on five Billboard charts. It rises on three, and returns to another two, thanks largely to a huge increase in pure purchases. Luminate reports that in the past tracking frame, Happier Than Ever sold just under 2,600 copies. That would be a healthy figure for most musicians at any point, but it’s especially notable considering the fact that the full-length was released in 2021.
That 2,600 sum is also significant given how it performed just days ago. Last week, Luminate states that the same project sold 1,350 copies in America. That means Eilish’s second album saw its sales figure grow by 90% from one week to the next.
Thanks to all those purchases, Happier Than Ever returns to the Top Album Sales chart, where it re-enters at No. 32. The set also breaks back onto the Vinyl Albums list, coming in at No. 24.
As it surges and finds a home on both of those tallies once more, Happier Than Ever is on the rise on three additional Billboard rankings. It pushes a few spaces north on the Top Alternative Albums chart (No. 14), Top Rock & Alternative Albums ranking (No. 22), and the Billboard 200 (No. 104) at the same time.
In the past, Eilish has sent Happier Than Ever to No. 1 on each and every one of those rankings except for the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart. Despite its incredible popularity and staying power, Happier Than Ever has only reached No. 6 on that roster, which is somewhat surprising given how many frames it’s dominated the Top Alternative Albums roster in the past.
