Ariana Grande might not have won an Academy Award at the 2025 Oscars, but she still walked away as one of the big winners of the night. The pop superstar and actress opened the show alongside her Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo, and the two delivered an absolutely incredible performance of “Defying Gravity.” Now, that tune has become a hit once more all around the world, and in the United Kingdom, it’s not the only tune by Grande that surges.
Three of Ariana Grande’s Singles Return to the U.K. Charts
This week, three of Grande’s singles return to the charts in the U.K. Some bounce back onto multiple tallies, while others only appear on one, but it seems that British music fans have once again flocked to the Grammy winner’s catalog — though that’s not unusual.
“Defying Gravity” Is Ariana Grande’s Biggest Comeback
The duet with Erivo reappears on a trio of rankings in the U.K. this frame. It reenters the Official Singles Downloads chart at No. 51 and lands four spaces beneath that position on the Official Singles Sales roster. The musical theater staple is also a win on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, as “Defying Gravity” breaks back onto the Official Streaming chart at No. 90.
“The Boy Is Mine” Surges Once More
“The Boy Is Mine,” the last single pushed from Grande’s latest album, Eternal Sunshine, is also a hit once more. It climbs precipitously on the Official Physical Singles chart, bolting from No. 98 to No. 31. At the same time, it reenters the Official Vinyl Singles roster at No. 35, becoming a top 40 bestseller on a pair of tallies once more.
“Yes, And?” Returns to the Rankings
Grande kicked off the Eternal Sunshine campaign in very early 2024, and British music lovers are buying the set’s first single in large numbers once more this frame. The dance-pop tune “Yes, And?” appears on just one list this period, the Official Physical Singles chart. Last frame, it didn’t sell well enough to land on the ranking of the bestselling individual tunes on any physical format, such as vinyl, cassette, or CD, but now it’s back at No. 93. If it can hold on for one more turn, it will celebrate a full year on the roster.
