Six years after its inception, one of the most prestigious luxury SUVs in the world is finally being facelifted. The Rolls-Royce Cullinan is the illustrious luxury automaker’s only SUV, first introduced as a 2019 model year vehicle. Over the past six years, it was endowed with a few upgrades, but fundamentally the Rolls-Royce truck remained unchanged. During this period, the Cullinan also quickly became the best-selling model of the brand’s ultra-luxurious lineup. And finally, the Cullinan has received a major facelift, comprising both cosmetic, interior, and technological enhancements. Here’s everything you need to know about the updated Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II.
Comprehensively Redesigned Facade
While the boxy silhouette of the mighty Rolls-Royce SUV remains the same, some major exterior upgrades differentiate the Cullinan Series II from its predecessor. The Series II receives the most changes upfront, as the front fascia has been fully reworked. A new set of DRLs have been positioned as eyebrows that extend and lead down towards the lower bumper. Rolls-Royce says the shallow V-shape formed by the new bumper lines were inspired by the sharp lines of modern sports yachts. The new central showpiece of the facelifted luxury SUV is the illuminated pantheon front grille, a first for Cullinan.
Moving on to the sides, the most attention-grabbing feature of the Cullinan Series II is a new set of seven-spoke 23-inch wheels, another first-time for the Rolls-Royce SUV. The rear end sees a few design changes, including larger exhaust surrounds and a new protective plate running between the dual exhausts. Furthermore, a new solid gray-brown shade dubbed “Emperador Truffle” has been added onto the color palette. This shade comes infused with glass particles, flaunting a shimmering “Crystal Over” finish, as Rolls-Royce calls it. Altogether, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II dons an attire that is both considerably different from and at the same time redolent of its predecessor.
Even More Opulence Inside The Cabin
The Cullinan’s palatial cabin has also been bestowed with a few new touches of flamboyance and intricate craftsmanship. The most prominent interior addition is the new upper-dash glass panel that stretches across the front A-pillars. Another new-to-the-Cullinan is the illuminated dashboard panel in the front passenger side. This ingeniously crafted piece of art previously found in the Ghost and Spectre has finally made its way into the Rolls-Royce truck too.
On top of that, the Cullinan’s dash is further embellished with a new clock cabinet, housing a Spirit Of Ecstasy figure. The symbol of dreams has now found a place inside the cabin of Cullinan. The seats of the new Cullinan can now be sheathed in a new textile, which Rolls-Royce calls “Duality Twill”. This new rayon fabric made from bamboo is offered in three colors — Lilac, Chocolate, and Black, with 51 different thread-color choices. The most luxurious SUV to travel in has just been upgraded into an even nicer, more sumptuous one.
Updated Tech Features
The Cullinan Series II also gets an all-new infotainment setup. A new permanently visible central touchscreen adorns the finely trimmed dashboard of the Cullinan Series II. This new infotainment setup features the SPIRIT operating system, first introduced in the all-electric Rolls-Royce Spectre. Another new tech feature is “Whispers” a user-configurable application that allows customers to manage their palace on wheels remotely. The rear cabin also gets some tech upgrades, including Bluetooth headphone connectivity for the rear seat infotainment system. It’s fantastic to finally have wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay in Cullinan, afterall, the Cullinan is a vehicle that is often driven and taken on road trips.
