Jimmy Buffett passed away half a year ago, and his death shocked the world. Few outside of his closest circle even knew he was sick with skin cancer, as he didn’t share the information widely. Soon, a number of very famous musician friends of the late country, pop, and rock artist will gather to tribute the king of the laidback.
A concert called Keep the Party Going: A Tribute to Jimmy Buffett has been planned in tribute to the late musician whose name is in the title of the event. The show will feature a bevy of superstars who could command a massive venue on their own, and their coming together is sure to be an incredible night of music.
Keep the Party Going: A Tribute to Jimmy Buffett will seemingly be headlined by none other than Paul McCartney. On a bill that includes a lot of famous friends and celebrated artists, he may very well be the biggest and most adored.
McCartney and Buffett were friends in life, and they even got a chance to work together just before he passed. The former Beatle played bass on one of the songs on Buffett’s final album, Equal Strain on All Parts. He’s even seen in the music video for the cut, which features plenty of footage shot in the studio as the track came together.
The tribute concert’s lineup also includes the Eagles, Jon Bon Jovi, Brandi Carlile, Kenny Chesney, Zac Brown, Eric Church, Sheryl Crow, Jake Owen, Jack Johnson, Pitbull, and many more. The Coral Reefer Band, Buffett’s backing group that played with him at many, many concerts and in the studio throughout much of his career, will also take part.
Keep the Party Going: A Tribute to Jimmy Buffett will take place at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA. Fans won’t have to wait long for the party, as it is scheduled for April 11. Tickets will go on sale this coming Friday (March 15).
