No longer just a vacation destination for travelers seeking high-octane experiences, Las Vegas is quickly becoming one of the country’s most sought-after luxury home markets.
While there is no shortage of luxury real estate, developers and architects are investing in new luxury communities to meet this growing demand. The latest to hit the scene? The Canyon at Ascaya, a collection of modern resort-style residences in the desert. The enclave in Henderson, Nevada—just 20 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip—will include 51 homes designed by Blue Heron, a Nevada-based architecture, interior, design, and construction firm, with prices from $2.9 million. Blue Heron is known for its modern, architecturally significant homes that put biophilic design and sustainability at the forefront.
The community of Ascaya was founded in 2006 and now includes some of the area’s most architecturally savvy estates. The Canyon will be a private enclave within the community and residents will have access to amenities both at The Canyon, as well as Ascaya’s community amenities.
Located in the foothills of the McCullough Mountains, the new resort-style architectural residences blend seamlessly into the surrounding landscape. The three- and four-bedroom single-level homes range from 3,391 square feet to 4,407 square feet. Each will have open-plan layouts with seamless indoor-outdoor connectivity, dual primary suites, and breathtaking canyon views. The residences will also feature 12-foot-high ceilings, glass pocket doors, gas fireplaces, and high-end fixtures from brands like Sub-Zero and Wolf, Brizo, MTI, and Kohler. There will also be two-car garages, covered patios, and an outdoor kitchen.
“Our architectural philosophy is rooted in the belief that a home should be a sanctuary, and at The Canyon, we’ve created sanctuaries that celebrate the distinct canvas of the desert landscape,” said Chris Beucler, president of Blue Heron, in a press statement. “In every detail of The Canyon homes, you’ll find a commitment to excellence, sustainability, and design that enhances the human experience. This is modern desert living reimagined.”
The Canyon will have an array of wellness amenities, including wellness parks with yoga decks, meditation spaces, and cold plunges, as well as pools, spas, and outdoor communal kitchens. Ascaya’s community amenities include a 23,000-square-foot Ascaya Clubhouse, 50-meter pool with Strip views, private cabanas, a tennis and pickleball pavilion, and a two-acre Family Park.
“The Canyon at Ascaya represents a defining moment for lock-and-leave, resort-style living in Las Vegas,” Sam Brown, development lead for Ascaya, said in a press statement. “Our vision for The Canyon at Ascaya is to craft a one-of-one community that embodies both the serenity of desert living and the convenience of modern luxury. We believe we’ve achieved that balance perfectly.”
The guard-gated community of Ascaya spans an incredible 670 acres and has miles of hiking trails, native flora, and canyons for rock climbing or biking. The community places a strong emphasis on community, fitness and wellness, and adventure, all while being a short drive from the country’s most impressive entertainment venues. The Canyon at Ascaya is currently under construction and is slated for a 2025 completion.
