What do Elvis Presley, Paul McCartney, and The Eagles all have in common? A lot, actually, but this week, they all manage a feat at the same time. All three artistsâand a few othersâreturn to the same Billboard chart this frame as the allure of the approaching Christmas holiday brings some of their cuts back to prominence.
All three legends are back on the Rock Streaming Songs chart this week. The tally, published by Billboard, lists the tracks labeled as rock by the companyâwith that genre distinction being somewhat subjectiveâthat rack up the most plays on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music in the U.S.
The highest-ranking of the bunch of returning hits comes from Elvis Presley. The Kingâs âBlue Christmasâ is one of the most beloved holiday tunes in America, and it isnât surprising that it has picked up in streams in the past week or so. Itâs the highest-charting tune that wasnât present on the list last frameâcoming in at No. 6âand it will likely climb in the coming frames. âBlue Christmasâ previously peaked at No. 1.
Fellow rock legend Chuck Berry narrowly misses out on returning to the top 10 on this weekâs Rock Streaming Songs chart, though he may very well enter that space very soon. His fun Christmas smash âRun Rudolph Runâ is back at No. 11. Like Presleyâs âBlue Christmas,â it also spent time at No. 1.
Just behind Berry comes beloved rockers The Eagles. The groupâs cover of âPlease Come Home for Christmasâ is back at No. 12. It once rose as high as No. 3, and its ascent this year is just beginning.
Paul McCartney is also back on the Rock Streaming Songs chart, but it hasnât been very long since he last appeared on the tally. This time around, his holiday smash âWonderful Christmastimeâ reappears at No. 14. It has yet to top the ranking but came very close, once peaking at No. 2.
Just two weeks ago, McCartney earned a new hit on the roster as part of The Beatles. The bandâs new single âNow and Thenâ debuted and stalled at No. 5, but it only managed one week on the chart.
