Riot games has finally revealed Milio, the new League of Legends champion, and more specifically just what his abilities do.
Milio was initially revealed to League of Legends fans last week, but only in terms of his lore and backstory. Now we finally know how he will play, as his abilities have been revealed, and it is safe to say he has an interesting kit.
Designed to be a back-to-basics enchanter, Milio has great survivability and class cannon potential thanks to his abilities. While he is designed to be one of the easier to learn champions in League of Legends, there is certainly a lot to master here.
Milio’s first ability is Ultra Mega Fire Kick, which is exactly what a 12 year old would call one of their abilities. The Ultra Mega Fire Kick sees Milio kick a ball at an enemy which will initially knock them back. The ball will then fly upwards, then shoots back down to earth, slowing and damaging any enemies that are in the area of impact.
Milio’s W takes a leaf straight out of Fortnite, with the Cozy Campfire, although this one acts in a very different way. When used, Milio will create an empowering zone that heals allies and increases attack range for anyone standing within it. This zone will follow the champion closest to its cast post.
Next up is Milio’s E, Warm Hugs. This one is pretty simple all things considered, as Milio will simply create a shield on an ally, which will give them increased movement speed.
Milio’s ultimate is Breath of Life, where he releases a wave of soothing flames, which is a bit of an oxymoron, that will heal and remove crowd control effects from any allies in its range.
Finally Milio has a passive called Fired Up. Any ally that is hit by one of Milio’s abilities will become enchanted, meaning the next time they deal damage it will have an extra burst of damage attached, and will burn the target.
“The goal was to make an enchanter that felt like they fit in with the rest of the enchanter roster and didn’t stick out like a sore thumb,” said Myles “Riot Emizery” Salholm, a game designer on League of Legends. “But still someone who brought something new to the role so enchanter players would have a new and interesting gameplay experience.”
Milio is expected to launch alongside Patch 13.6 later this month.
